The Mahindra Thar Roxx is gearing up for its highly anticipated launch on August 15, and the latest teaser has provided another glimpse of this rugged SUV. The new teaser showcases the elongated Thar navigating the high mountains of North India, offering a better look at its sides.
What We Could Spot
While the teaser doesn't reveal much that is new compared to the previous ones, it does highlight some key features:
Front Design: A body-coloured slatted grille and new LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. The bumpers feature a contrasting silver finish.
Wheels: New 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels within squared-off wheel arches.
Elongated Wheelbase: The most noticeable change is the extended wheelbase and the addition of two rear doors for easier access.
Rear Design: New LED tail lights with C-shaped internal lighting elements and C-pillar-mounted handles for the rear doors, reminiscent of the previous-gen Maruti Swift.
Features and Safety
The Thar Roxx is expected to share a similar interior layout with the 3-door Thar but with a more premium feel, thanks to beige-coloured upholstery. Key features likely include:
Infotainment and Display: A 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Additional Features: A panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, and a 360-degree camera.
Safety: Up to six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Powertrain Options
The Thar Roxx is expected to carry over the same engine options as the 3-door model, which includes:
Engines: 2.2-litre diesel and 2-litre turbo-petrol engines.
Transmission: Both 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions.
Drive Options: Available in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations. The engines might be tuned for increased power in the Roxx.
Expected Price and Rivals
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is anticipated to start at approximately Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete directly with the Force Gurkha 5-door and offer a larger alternative to the Maruti Jimny.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the official launch date, and get ready to experience the enhanced capabilities and features of the Mahindra Thar Roxx.
