Mahindra Thar Roxx Revealed As New 5 Door Suv

Mahindra Thar Roxx Revealed as New 5-Door SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra has officially unveiled the name of its much-anticipated 5-door variant of the iconic Thar, which will be known as the Mahindra Thar Roxx. The new model has been a subject of intense speculation and excitement among automotive enthusiasts, with the rumoured name "Armada" also making rounds. However, Mahindra has settled on Roxx, a name that echoes the robust and adventurous spirit of this new SUV.

A Rockstar-Inspired SUV

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Sector at Mahindra, introduced the Thar Roxx with high expectations. He emphasized that the Roxx would offer more than just a larger version of the existing Thar. “The Thar Roxx, with its distinctive design, premium quotient, advanced technology, enhanced performance, sophistication, and safety, is ‘THE’ SUV. While retaining the core attributes of the iconic Thar, the ‘Thar Roxx’ represents the larger-than-life personality of a rockstar and will disrupt the SUV category,” Nakra stated.

The Thar Roxx aims to build on the legacy of its three-door predecessor while introducing new features and design elements that cater to evolving consumer expectations.

Design and Features

The Mahindra Thar Roxx will retain much of the design ethos of the traditional Thar, characterized by its rugged and adventurous look. However, the five-door version will incorporate some refinements and updates to modernize its appeal. The new SUV is expected to feature a more refined front grille, updated LED headlights, and a longer, more substantial body that enhances both aesthetics and functionality.

Inside, the Thar Roxx promises a leap into modernity. It will come equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) Level 2. These features mark a significant upgrade from the existing model, aiming to deliver a more premium and comfortable driving experience.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Thar Roxx will offer two engine options that will be familiar to those who know the current Thar. It will come with a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine, both of which have proven to be reliable and capable. The Roxx will be available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations, giving buyers the flexibility to choose according to their driving needs and preferences.

Additionally, the Thar Roxx will offer both manual and automatic gearbox options, ensuring that it caters to a wide range of driving styles and requirements. This versatility is expected to appeal to a broad spectrum of customers, from off-road enthusiasts to city commuters.

Market Position and Expectations

Mahindra’s decision to name the new 5-door SUV Thar Roxx signals their intention to position it as a game-changer in the SUV market. By retaining the rugged charm of the original Thar while incorporating modern features and a more refined design, Mahindra aims to attract both loyal fans of the Thar and new customers looking for a versatile and stylish SUV.

The introduction of the Thar Roxx comes at a time when the SUV market is experiencing significant growth, with consumers increasingly seeking vehicles that combine off-road capability with on-road comfort and advanced technology. The Roxx’s emphasis on premium features and performance suggests that Mahindra is aiming to capture a larger share of this expanding market.

Conclusion

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is set to be a significant addition to the SUV landscape. With its blend of rugged design, advanced technology, and versatile performance options, it promises to build on the legacy of the Thar while carving out a distinct identity of its own. As the launch date approaches, anticipation continues to build, and the Thar Roxx is poised to make a strong impression in the competitive SUV segment.

As Mahindra prepares for the launch of the Thar Roxx, automotive enthusiasts and potential buyers alike will be eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience this new chapter in the Thar’s storied history.
