The Mahindra Scorpio SUV has garnered a sales milestone of nine lakh units, the OEM announced the rollout of nine lakh units from its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The Mahindra Scorpio debuted in 2002 and the latest Scorpio N was introduced to the market in 2022. The combined sales of the Scorpio and Scorpio N reached a total of 76,935 units, which translates to a 99 per cent YoY (year-on-year) growth. The FY 2024 started with sales touching 18,835 units in the first two months, thus clocking a 114.31 per cent YoY growth. Currently, the SUV line-up of the company includes the Thar, XUV 700, XUV 300, Bolero and KUV 100.
The Mahindra Scorpio N houses a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 171 bhp of power and a 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 199 bhp of power with torque figures ranging from 380-400 Nm depending on the type of transmission, that is automatic or manual. And the Scorpio Classic draws its power from a 2.2-litre diesel engine coupled to a six-speed transmission that makes 129 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque.
The feature list includes a double-barrel LED projector headlamp unit, shark fin antenna, LED taillamp, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, alloy wheels, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, climate control system, and power steering to name a few.
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic retails at a price of Rs. 12.64 lakh for the base variant and the top model will set you back by Rs 16.14 lakh. And the base model of the Scorpio N can be yours at a price of Rs. 13.05 lakh, and the top model comes with a sticker price of Rs. 24.51 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
