Mahindra Delivers Over 6,500 BE 6 and XEV 9e Electric SUVs Since March Launch

Mahindra has delivered more than 6,500 units of its all-electric SUVs — the BE 6 and XEV 9e — within just two months of launch. With strong demand for the top-spec Pack Three variant, lower trims are set to begin deliveries in June 2025. A waiting period of up to 6 months applies to both models.

Mahindra XEV 9e

Injecting new life into the all-electric SUV segment, Mahindra received tremendous reception after 6,500 units of the BE 6 and XEV 9e were delivered since March 2025.

The generation of electric vehicles commanded attention as the BE 6 and XEV 9e were delivered in November 2024. This showcased Mahindra’s aggressive attempt to dominate the emerging EV market.

Only the fully loaded Pack Three variant has been delivered to customers thus far, highlighting the demand for top-end trim levels. It is expected that the mid-spec and base variants will be available by June 2025.

Incredible Demand, Especially for the XEV 9e

The BE 6 is currently priced at ₹18.9 lakh ex-showroom, and the XEV 9e is priced at ₹21.9 lakh. Both models aim to position themselves as premium but affordable electric SUVs, which has aided in improving sales. Though sales of both models have increased, the XEV 9e is leading in demand as buyers prefer its larger size and advanced features.

Currently, customers are faced with a maximum waiting period of 6 months due to the drastic market response.

Battery Claims and Options

Both the BE 6 and XEV 9e are equipped with two battery pack options: 59kWh and 79kWh. Mahindra says that these SUVs can cover a driving range of up to 683km in a single charge which makes these SUVs among the very few in India to feature range EVs.

What's Next?

After gaining some market confidence through showcasing the first lot of deliveries, Mahindra now intends to increase the BE 6 and XEV 9e’s production for the other two variants. Set to launch in mid 2025, these additional variants will enhance India’s electric vehicle infrastructure.
