Mahindra Boosts: Establishes 180 kW Ultra-Fast Highway Charging Network

With the first two 180 kW stations already operational on important national routes, Mahindra has formally inaugurated its Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network. The network, which was designed to facilitate long-distance electric car travel, makes use of powerful dual-gun chargers that can simultaneously charge several vehicles. By 2027, Mahindra intends to increase this network to more than 1,000 charging stations and 250 stations. The program's objectives are to lessen range anxiety, increase highway EV accessibility, and make electric mobility more practical for all Indian EV customers.

  • Mahindra's introduction of Charge_IN, a 180 kW ultra-fast EV charging network.

  • The company's plan to boost EV travel by growing this network to 1,000 charging stations by 2027.

The first two Charge_IN stations have officially launched Mahindra & Mahindra's ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure. With its 180 kW dual-gun chargers, these stations can charge up to four EVs at once. The action represents a major turning point in Mahindra's endeavor to expand public EV charging infrastructure throughout India.

Locations That Are Ideal for Long Journeys

The first Charge_IN stations, one at Hoskote on the Bengaluru–Chennai highway (NH 75) and another at Murthal on NH 44, around 50 km from Delhi, are positioned strategically along significant highway corridors.

Strategic Growth Plan by 2027

By the end of 2027, Mahindra hopes to expand the Charge_IN network to 250 stations nationwide. To ensure consistency and compatibility, a total of 1,000 separate charging stations based on the 180 kW architecture will be included.

To make long-distance EV travel more feasible, these stations will be placed along important roads and busy locations.

Convenience and Speed in Design

Mahindra's own electric SUVs, such as the XEV 9e, BE 6, and future XEV 9S, can be charged from 20% to 80% battery in around 20 minutes thanks to the 180 kW chargers.

In an effort to shorten traveler wait times, each station has two high-power chargers that allow many vehicles to be charged simultaneously.

Available to All EV Owners

ChargeIN is not exclusive to Mahindra automobiles. Any EV brand's owners will be able to access the network through the ChargeIN by Mahindra app or other popular aggregator platforms.

The current Me4U app, which connects to more than 34,000 public charging stations, will also help Mahindra EV users locate, use, and pay for Charge_IN stations.

Boosting EV Self-Assurance While Traveling

During the launch, Mahindra's executives stressed the importance of fast charging infrastructure in fostering trust in long-distance electric vehicle travel. Mahindra wants to make electric road trips as convenient as traditional driving with its 500 km real-world EV range and access to an expanding, fast network.
