Introductory Prices of Skoda Kylaq to stay till April 2025 End

Skoda Kylaq was introduced as the Czech automaker's most budget-friendly SUV offering in India, with prices ranging from Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). Although it was introduced 4 months ago, that is, in December 2024, Skoda has chosen not to increase its price until April 30, 2025

Skoda Kylaq was rolled out as the Czech automaker's cheapest SUV proposition in India with a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India).

Despite its launch 4 months ago, exactly in December 2024, Skoda has now opted not to raise its price until April 30, 2025. Earlier, Skoda announced introductory prices that will continue to be charged until the Kylaq completes 33,333 bookings.

Let us have a look at specifications being offered by the Czech giant with the Skoda Kylaq.

Exterior

The Skoda Kylaq features a classic design with the black iconic Skoda "Butterfly" grille and the dual-pod LED headlights and brow-shaped LED DRLs give it a more modern look. The mid section of the front bumper is painted black to provide the sub-4m SUV with a tough look.

In profile, it receives 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, black roof rails and a contrasting black body cladding. It may not receive connected LED tail lights like present day vehicles but the wraparound tail lights receive a black trim with Skoda lettering placed on it. The rear bumper is black with a faux silver skid plate.

Interiors, Features, and Safety

Within, the Skoda Kylaq has a multi-layered dashboard design with a black and grey color scheme. It has two screens, a 2-spoke steering wheel and big AC vents with chrome bezels. It gets a black seat cover and all the seats have adjustable headrests and 3-point seatbelts.

The Skoda Kylaq also has plenty of features, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch digital driver's display, and a 6-speaker audio system. It is also featured with auto AC, a single-pane sunroof, a wireless charging port and 6-way electrically adjustable front seats with a ventilation function.

As far as safety is concerned, the Kylaq boasts 6 airbags (standard), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It also features a rear parking camera with sensors and a rear defogger. The Skoda Kylaq has achieved a 5-star crash safety rating from Bharat NCAP.

Pricing and Rivals

The Skoda Kylaq is available at a price range of Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom, pan-India), and it competes with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and even the Kia Syros.

Conclusion

The Skoda Kylaq comes across as a serious contender in the subcompact SUV market with its refined combination of style, features, safety, and performance. In its premium design, feature-packed cabin, and frugal 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, the Kylaq appeals to those seeking a polished yet reasonably priced SUV.

Skoda's move to extend the introductory pricing up to April 30, 2025, makes it a more desirable proposition for potential customers. Going head-to-head with best-sellers such as the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue, the Kylaq will find its place in the Indian SUV segment. With a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, trendy tech options, and a solidly constructed cabin, the Kylaq does credit to the Skoda brand for quality and performance.
