Hyundai Motor India Foundation Boosts Sports Development with New Fitness Center

India is slowly but gradually pacing up its position in the Olympics but for future times athletes must be supported and motivated from the beginning to prepare for big. Taking that into consideration, the Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) announced the inauguration of a new state-of-the-art Sports Lab Fitness Centre in Hisar, Haryana on July 30, 2024. This initiative has already helped 7,500 young athletes from Haryana and Punjab. A significant milestone in the expansion of HMIF's flagship Sports Lab project.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

The new Sports Lab Fitness Centre in Hisar aims to provide young athletes with top-notch training facilities and expert guidance. The center is equipped with modern fitness equipment and staffed by certified trainers who can cater to the diverse needs of athletes across various sports disciplines. This includes specialized therapies and sports injury rehabilitation to enhance physical fitness and overall performance.

Inauguration Ceremony

The fitness center was inaugurated by celebrated badminton player and Olympic medallist, Ms. Saina Nehwal. The event was also attended by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mohan, Additional Superintendent of Police (IPS) – Hisar, Haryana, Mr. Puneet Anand, Vertical Head - Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL, government officials from the education department of Haryana, and other prominent local dignitaries, athletes, and sports federation representatives.

Encouraging Young Talent

During the launch, Mr. Puneet Anand expressed his enthusiasm for the Sports Lab initiative. He highlighted that HMIF’s Sports Lab project is more than just a sports program; it aims to foster a generation of healthy, confident, and capable individuals. The project is aligned with Hyundai's global vision of "Progress for Humanity". It aims to bring about positive change in society by providing budding athletes with the right guidance and platform to pursue sports as a viable career option. The implementing agency of the Sports Lab project, Roots Foundation, has been instrumental in driving these efforts on the ground.

Words of Inspiration

Ms. Saina Nehwal, who attended the inauguration, shared her thoughts on the initiative. She praised the Sports Lab project for providing young athletes with the resources and coaching they need to realize their potential. Nehwal expressed her confidence that the initiative will offer better opportunities for young athletes in Haryana and Punjab to train and represent India at national and international levels. She looked forward to seeing these athletes shine in various sporting events and bring glory to the nation.

Expansion Plans

The event also marked the expansion of the Sports Lab project to Jind, Haryana, and Mansa, Punjab. Launched in 2022 in collaboration with Roots Foundation, the Sports Lab project aims to identify and nurture young sports talent at the grassroots level through mentorship and advanced training. By working with local schools, sports clubs, federations, and government bodies, HMIF is building a sustainable ecosystem that promotes athletic growth and excellence.

In Summary, The launch of the Sports Lab Fitness Centre in Hisar is a testament to the Hyundai Motor India Foundation's commitment to sports development in India. HMIF is creating opportunities for young athletes to excel and pursue their dreams by providing state-of-the-art facilities and expert guidance. With the expansion of the Sports Lab project to new regions, more young talents will have the chance to train and compete at higher levels, ultimately contributing to the nation's success in sports. This initiative not only aims at winning medals but also at fostering a generation of healthy, confident, and capable individuals who can make a positive impact on society.
