Hyundai Inster EV concept teased

Hyundai has teased a concept one-off race car based on the Inster micro-EV. It's named the Insteroid, and the name captures the essence of the concept: Inster on steroids. Hyundai refers to it as a "playful interpretation" of the Inster and describes its design as being influenced by video game graphics. The car will be unveiled to the public in early April.

The insteroid is a one-off concept and is based on the Inster EV micro-EV, and the car gets an extensive aerodynamic bodywork and a stripped-down interior, and the styling is inspired by video game aesthetics, and the whole car will be fully revealed in April.

Hyundai Insteroid exterior and interior design details

The most striking aspect of the Insteroid seen in the teaser is its enormous WRC-style double-decker rear wing. The Insteroid also receives enormously flared front and rear bumpers and fenders with huge gaping air vents to maximize aerodynamics.

Practically none of the body panels seem to be universal with the stock Inster, and we also notice a broad-arch body kit that goes from front to rear. The only items that look to be universal with the Inster EV are the round LED headlamps and pixel LED taillights.

Outer Details of Hyundai Inster EV

The Insteriod rolls on 21-inch aero-covered wheels with three centre holes. It also receives a roof scoop and a large rear diffuser. Meanwhile, the inside looks bare and is delivered fitted with a roll cage. Hyundai claims that there are 'fun details', and that there's plenty to explore in each item, including the control buttons and instrument cluster.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Insteroid, as a newly released model, reinvents the Inster EV by taking design and aerodynamic aspects to the extreme. Showcasing Hyundai’s concept of a micro EV vehicle, the Insteroid incorporates characteristics of video games, WRC along with extremely bold design elements. Deeply inspired by a famous race, the insteroid exemplifies a playful and high-performance vehicle. As we approach April, speculations are high as to how this vehicle will showcase Hyundai's engineering technology. More details are bound to be released, and we will make sure to share them with you.
