The upcoming 2023 Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing in India and we can expect the major changes to be cosmetic while retaining the overall silhouette of the outgoing model.
The spy shot shows that the car's front and rear are fully covered. We can expect significant changes in the covered areas. This could include redesigned bumper for the front and rear section, a new grille, a revised headlamp and taillamp cluster, and a new set of alloy wheels.
The interiors can be expected to have a new colour shade for the dash and the upholstery to give the car a fresh look. The feature list could include ventilated seats, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster with another 10.25-inch infotainment display, connected car tech, a seven-speaker Bose Sound system, and ambient lighting.
The upcoming i20 facelift is expected to be offered with two petrol powertrains: a 1.0 litre turbocharged engine that is good for 119 bhp of power and 172 Nm of peak torque, and a 1.2 litre naturally aspiration engine that produces 81 bhp of power and 115 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options could include a seven-speed DCT, a five-speed manual, and a CVT automatic gearbox.
The current Hyundai i20 retails at Rs. 7.46 lakh for the base model and the top model goes up to Rs. 11.87 lakh. The facelifted model can be expected to carry a sticker price higher than the current retail price range. The Hyundai i20 locks horns with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and Toyota Glanza to name a few.
