Honda to Launch Full-Size SUV Based on Nissan Patrol or Armada

Honda’s upcoming full-size SUV, based on the Nissan Patrol/Armada, is set to rival the Toyota Sequoia and Ford Expedition. A luxury Acura version is also likely.

Honda to Enter the Full-Size SUV Race

The full-size SUV market is highly competitive, dominated by models like the Toyota Sequoia, Jeep Wagoneer, Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon, and Chevrolet Tahoe. Honda, a key player in the SUV segment, has yet to establish a presence in this category. However, with its recent partnership with Nissan, that is about to change.

Reports suggest that Honda is preparing to introduce a full-size SUV based on the Nissan Patrol (Armada in North America). This move is expected to fast-track Honda’s entry into the segment, allowing it to compete with established players while leveraging Nissan’s expertise in large SUVs.

The upcoming Honda full-size SUV will be positioned above the Honda Pilot, making it the brand’s largest SUV yet. Nissan Patrol, which serves as its foundation, measures around 5.3 meters in length, while the Pilot is under 5.1 meters.

  • Market Availability: The SUV will likely debut in North America, where full-size SUVs are highly popular. However, Honda may also consider launching it in Middle Eastern markets, where the Nissan Patrol enjoys immense popularity.
