Ferrari 12Cilindri Launched in India at Rs 8.5 Crore: The Ultimate V12 Grand Tourer

Ferrari has introduced its latest V12-powered grand tourer, the 12Cilindri, in India. Priced at Rs 8.5 crore for the coupe and Rs 9.15 crore for the Spider, this supercar replaces the 812 Superfast and carries Ferrari’s iconic naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine. With deliveries set for the second half of the year, the 12Cilindri marks a new era for Ferrari’s legendary front-engine GT lineup.

A Tribute to Ferrari’s V12 Legacy

Ferrari has officially unveiled the 12Cilindri in India, a car that not only replaces the 812 Superfast but also stands as a celebration of Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V12 heritage. Unlike most modern supercars that incorporate turbocharging or hybridization, the 12Cilindri stays true to its roots with a pure 6.5-litre V12 engine, pushing out an impressive 830hp. The power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, ensuring a thrilling driving experience.

Ferrari 12Cilindri: A Design Inspired by Icons

The Ferrari 12Cilindri takes inspiration from the legendary 365 GTB/4 Daytona, blending classic Ferrari design cues with modern aerodynamics. Both the coupe and convertible (Spider) versions will be available from the start, unlike Ferrari’s usual practice of introducing convertibles years after the coupe.

With sleek bodywork, aggressive air intakes, and a low-slung silhouette, the 12Cilindri is every bit the grand tourer Ferrari fans expect. It carries forward Ferrari’s tradition of front-engine V12 supercars, competing directly with the upcoming Aston Martin Vanquish in the Indian market.

Premium Features and Customization Options

Unlike most Ferrari models, where buyers need to spend extra on even basic features, the Indian-spec 12Cilindri will include some options as standard. Though exact details remain unclear, reports suggest features like:

  • Nose lift function – to tackle Indian speed breakers

  • Scuderia Ferrari shields on the fenders

  • Painted brake calipers

  • Basic interior customization options

These inclusions aim to soften the hefty price tag, ensuring that customers get some premium elements without additional cost.

How It Compares to the Ferrari Purosangue SUV

Interestingly, the Ferrari 12Cilindri is priced lower than the brand’s luxury SUV, the Purosangue, which was launched at Rs 10.5 crore in 2024. Despite being an SUV, the Purosangue has a naturally aspirated V12 engine and has been immensely popular, with orders stretching into 2026.

Launch and Availability in India

Bookings for the Ferrari 12Cilindri have been open for a while, and official deliveries are set to begin in the second half of 2025. Given Ferrari’s exclusivity and limited production numbers, early buyers are expected to get their hands on this masterpiece before allocations run out.

Conclusion

The Ferrari 12Cilindri might be one of the last naturally aspirated V12 grand tourers before the industry fully transitions to hybrid or electric powertrains. With stunning design, raw power, and Ferrari’s legendary craftsmanship, this supercar is not just a performance machine but a collector’s dream.

For enthusiasts willing to shell out Rs 8.5 crore (or Rs 9.15 crore for the Spider), the Ferrari 12Cilindri is the ultimate grand tourer, paying homage to decades of Ferrari’s V12 supremacy while embracing modern engineering excellence.
