Everything You Need to Know About the Mahindra XEV 9S that is Set to Launch Tomorrow

With a model based on the cutting-edge INGLO platform, Mahindra will make its debut in the full-size, three-row electric SUV market tomorrow with the much-anticipated XEV 9S. The XEV 9S, a brand-new electric vehicle, boasts a roomy seven-seater configuration, long-range battery options, and a high-end, tech-focused interior with numerous displays and comfort functions. In India's expanding EV industry, the SUV seeks to provide families with a useful yet contemporary electric mobility option with a competitive projected cost.

  • A comprehensive overview of the Mahindra XEV 9S's features, powertrain, design, and launch date.

  • The key features, anticipated costs, and characteristics that set the XEV 9S apart in the Indian electric SUV market.

The XEV 9S is Mahindra's first fully functional seven-seater electric SUV. Constructed from the ground up as an EV on its unique INGLO "skateboard" architecture, the same foundation used by its siblings, it is designed to provide three-row room without sacrificing functionality.

The XEV 9S fully adopts an EV-first design concept, in contrast to a simple electric variant of an already-existing gasoline/diesel model.

Key Details About Tomorrow’s Launch

On November 27, 2025, the XEV 9S will make its debut at the company's "Scream Electric" event in Bengaluru.

If true, the estimated ex-showroom pricing of ₹21 lakh to ₹30 lakh puts it in a competitive position among India's high-end electric SUVs.

What to Expect: Features, Interior, and Design

Outside, the XEV 9S has a recognizable SUV posture that is comparable to its ICE sister in appearance. However, it has a new fascia with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and a contemporary headlight arrangement that is evocative of the smaller XEV 9e's design.

The SUV's interior seeks to provide superior EV comfort and technology. Highlights include a Harman Kardon sound system and a dashboard with three screens: one for the instrument cluster, infotainment, and front-passenger display.

A panoramic sunroof, sliding second-row seats, wireless charging, ambient lighting, tri-zone climate control, vented and massaging front seats, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold are a few more high-end features.

A smart, family-friendly interior design has also been hinted at by recent teasers that included rear-seat entertainment screen holders, probably for second-row passengers.

Safety

In terms of safety, the XEV 9S is anticipated to have features common to contemporary EV SUVs, such as up to seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring, and maybe Level 2 driver assistance aids.

Under the Hood: Range & Powertrain

It is anticipated that the XEV 9S would continue its electric brothers' tried-and-true battery and motor configuration. A 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack may be available for purchase. These packs should provide a real-world driving range of between 542 and 656 kilometres (MIDC combined) under ideal circumstances.

Although there is some conjecture that higher trim levels may have dual-motor versions, the drivetrain is most likely to be rear-wheel drive with a single electric motor.

The XEV 9S's Unique Features

The XEV 9S is unique because it aims to be a true three-row, seven-seater electric SUV at a cost that is far less than that of many full-size EVs. It seeks to blend utility and EV benefits with a roomy cabin, ample cargo/frunk storage, rear-seat amenities, and a family-oriented interior.

Furthermore, Mahindra appears to be aiming not only at EV consumers but also at those looking for a full-size SUV experience with cutting-edge technology, as evidenced by the advanced feature list, which includes multi-screen setup, quality audio, and contemporary safety and comfort features.
