Driving India’s Auto Buzz: Carens Clavis & Altroz Lead the Pack

From powerful new launches like the Kia Carens Clavis and Tata Altroz facelift to upcoming EVs, hot hatches, and price shifts, we round up the key car news you need to know this week in India.

How’s the automobile industry’s Josh? Well, too high!

We are witnessing the launch of vehicles from top brands back to back. From the launch of the new Kia Carens Clavis to the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift, we can also see that new variants have been introduced in the MG Windsor EV and Hyundai i20’s lineup.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Kia Carens Clavis Makes a Grand Entry

Kia’s premium MPV, the Carens Clavis, has hit showrooms with a starting price of ₹11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in seven trims, it offers petrol, diesel, and CNG options. The fresh design boasts a bold grille, sleek LED lights, and roomy cabin comforts such as ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. For families craving style and space, the Carens Clavis ticks all the boxes.

Tata Altroz Facelift Wows Buyers

Tata Motors has given its popular hatchback, the Altroz, a mid-life makeover. Priced from ₹6.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2025 facelift features sharper bumpers, a new bonnet line, and dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, buyers get an updated 7-inch driver display, wireless charging, and improved cabin materials.

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Launch Date Locked In

Volkswagen India has confirmed the launch of the Golf GTI for later this year. Enthusiasts who missed out on the pre-booked limited units can now mark their calendars. Under the hood lies a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 265 PS, promising a thrilling drive.

Tata Harrier EV: Future of Electric SUVs

Tata Motors also unveiled the launch date for the Harrier EV, set to arrive with all-wheel drive and a claimed range north of 500 km on a single charge. As the brand’s flagship electric SUV, the Harrier EV could redefine long-distance EV travel in India.

Hyundai i20’s New Magna Executive Variant

Hyundai has spiced up its i20 lineup with the Magna Executive trim. Priced attractively, this variant brings a CVT option and sunroof to the Magna badge for the first time. Minor tweaks in the Sportz (O) variant add features like ambient lighting.

MG Windsor EV Pro Gains an Exclusive Pro Variant

MG Motor India has expanded the Windsor EV Pro range with an Exclusive Pro model, priced at ₹12.25 lakh (with battery subscription) or ₹17.25 lakh outright. This variant unlocks the larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, stretching the range to over 420 km.

MG Motor Implements Price Revisions

In other MG news, prices for the Comet EV, Hector, Hector Plus, and [Gloster(https://parkplus.io/new-cars/mg-car/gloster) have seen adjustments. While outright buyers of the Comet EV face a small hike, its subscription plan got cheaper. The Gloster bore the heaviest increase, up to ₹1.5 lakh, reflecting rising input costs across the industry.

Volkswagen Tarragon

Finally, Volkswagen reconfirmed the Tayron’s India launch later this year. Essentially a seven-seater Tiguan, the Tayron was recently spotted testing on our roads. Rumours hint at an R-Line sport variant arriving alongside, which could spice up the SUV segment with both space and performance.

The bottom line

This week’s car highlights blend fresh launches, facelifts, EV reveals, and strategic price moves. Whether you’re hunting an MPV like the Carens Clavis, an updated hatch like the Altroz, or gearing up for high-performance and electric offerings, India’s auto scene remains vibrant and full of choices.
