Lok Adalat on May 10 is a golden chance to settle pending traffic challans quickly. To avoid delays, carry your challan copy, vehicle RC, driving license, ID proof, and any court notice or authorization letter. If your documents are complete, you can get a fine waiver and close the challan on the spot. Know the full process here!

The next Lok Adalat is going to be held on 10th May. If you are going to this Lok Adalat to get your pending traffic challan waived, then you will need some documents. If even one document is missing, then the challan cannot be settled. Let’s know what documents are required for the Lok Adalat.

Lok Adalat is a great opportunity for those with pending challans (such as traffic ones). Through this, you can settle the challan without a long legal process, and you can often get an exemption from the fine.

If you want to get your pending challan waived on your own, then it is necessary to take some important documents to the Lok Adalat. Here we are telling you what documents you will need for the Lok Adalat.

Documents required to settle the pending challan in the Lok Adalat

  • Copy of challan: Carry one or more photocopies of the challan that you want to settle or get waived. Your challan number, vehicle number, and date should be written correctly in it.

  • Vehicle registration certificate (RC): You have to carry the original copy and a verified copy of your vehicle's registration certificate, i.e., RC.

  • Driving License: A Driving license certifies that you are an authorized driver. Carry a photocopy of this along with the original copy.

  • Identity card: Carry any one identity proof like Aadhar card, PAN card, passport or voter ID with you. These documents are necessary to verify your identity.

  • Summons or notice: If you have received time or notice from the court for a particular challan, then carry a copy of it as well.

  • Authorization letter: If the person whose vehicle has been challaned cannot go to the Lok Adalat himself and sends someone in his place, then you must also take an authorization letter (Power of Attorney) with you.

  • Old receipt of challan payment: If you have paid the traffic challan partially, then you should also take its receipt with you. This maintains transparency in the process.

How does the process take place in Lok Adalat?

In Lok Adalat, your documents are checked, and if the documents are complete, then a settlement is done on the spot. You are then given a discount of a few percent on the online amount, and after payment, the challan is closed. Now, the next Lok Adalat is going to be held on May 10.
