Citroen Dark Edition Line-Up Launched: Prices Start at ₹8.38 Lakh

Citroen has joined the growing club of automakers offering black-themed special editions. The newly launched Dark Edition range brings a bold, all-black aesthetic to the C3, Aircross, and Basalt, paired with sportier interiors and subtle cosmetic upgrades. These variants are priced just ₹19,500 more than their standard counterparts.

After launching all three of its cars in India—C3, Aircross, and Basalt—in the Dark Edition range, Citroen now offers this limited-running variant in the Indian market at a price starting from ₹8.38 lakh. The variants' black exterior and premium interior distinguish them from the standard versions, and all three Dark Editions are now available at Citroen dealerships nationwide.

An Inside-and Outside-Premium Touch

The Dark Edition models are based on the higher trim levels of the standard versions and are priced at ₹19,500 over the latter. There are no visible exterior differences from the original versions except for the Perla Nera Black paint, dark chrome detailing on the grilles and chevrons, gloss-black bumper inserts, and black door handles, making it sleek and stealth-like chic.

The interior has black leatherette upholstery with contrasting red stitching, and the dashboard is wrapped in leatherette to evoke a sporty ethos. Red accents continue on the door trims, dashboard edges, and seat bolsters to create an even more dynamic and high-priced feel inside. Other updates include custom seat covers, dark chrome mouldings, and grille embellishments, but overall, the layout and equipment remain familiar.

MS Dhoni Receives First Citroen Basalt Dark Edition

Citroen donated its first-ever Basalt Dark Edition keys to the brand ambassador and former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni in a special event. This hanging act defines Citroen's growing influence and presence as a brand in India vis-a-vis such important launches.

No Changes Under the Hood

A spunky 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine produces 109 bhp and 190 Nm of torque (205 nm with automatic transmission) and gives the Dark Edition versions no mechanical evolutions. While a 6-speed torque converter automatic and 6-speed manual gearbox were offered, one gets a peppy driving experience, both for city drives as well as long stretches.

With a well-balanced touch of modifying style and premium appeal, the Citroen Dark Edition models are designed for buyers looking for sportier, more unique options at a price that doesn't completely break the bank.
