A Fresh Face for the Family MPV: Kia Carens Clavis

Kia has introduced the Carens Clavis, an enhanced MPV variant, in India, offering a premium experience with seven trims, three engine options, advanced tech, spacious seating, and top-tier safety. Priced from ₹11.49 lakh, it promises style, comfort, and convenience for families.

Kia India has added a new member to its lineup by launching the Carens Clavis at a starting price of ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), whose bookings began with a token amount of ₹25,000, and deliveries are expected to start shortly.

Let’s take a quick look at what’s in store for you.

Quick Look

  • Price Range: ₹11.49 – 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom)

  • Variants: Seven trims – HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX and HTX+

  • Colour Options: Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, Clear White.

Design & Comfort

The Carens Clavis sports a refreshed front grille and new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that give it a more commanding road presence. Inside, a 26.62-inch panoramic display seamlessly combines the digital cluster and infotainment, while the two-spoke steering wheel with an offset Kia logo adds a premium touch. Second-row passengers benefit from one-touch tumble, sliding and reclining seats for effortless third-row access.

Engine & Performance

Buyers can choose among three powerplants: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (113 bhp), a 1.5-litre turbo petrol (158 bhp), and a 1.5-litre diesel (114 bhp). The petrol engines pair with a new manual gearbox, while the turbo petrol and diesel also offer automatic transmissions for effortless city driving.

Safety & Tech

The new Clavis variant steps up safety with Level 2 ADAS, packing over 20 driver-assist features. Six airbags, ESC, rear occupant alert, and a total of 18 active/passive safety features ensure peace of mind on every journey. Tech highlights include an 8-speaker Bose audio system, 64-colour ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, smart key with one-touch window operation, seat-mounted air purifier, and a panoramic sunroof.

Overall, with its competitive pricing, comprehensive feature list, and family-friendly upgrades, the Kia Carens Clavis aims to stand out in the crowded MPV segment. Families seeking comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury will find a compelling package in this new offering.
