Maruti Suzuki is developing a 7-seater version of its popular Grand Vitara, internally codenamed Y17. Built on Suzuki’s Global C platform, this three-row SUV will retain the powertrains of the current Grand Vitara. It will feature a strong hybrid system with a 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol engine operating on the Atkinson cycle, paired with a 177.6V lithium-ion battery that powers the electric motor. The hybrid setup produces a combined 114 bhp and 141 Nm of peak torque.

This versatile SUV is designed for Indian families seeking space and efficiency, blending Maruti’s reliability with innovative hybrid technology.

2. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift Hybrid

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is set to receive a facelift, along with a hybrid powertrain upgrade. Internally known as YTB, the updated Fronx will introduce Maruti’s new HEV series hybrid powertrain technology, expected to deliver an impressive fuel efficiency of over 30 kmpl. The car will feature a 1.2L Z12E petrol engine paired with the hybrid system.
