2024 Kia Sonet Launched at INR 8 lakh- Know the details here!

Friday, 12th of January, 2024, saw the launch of Kia’s new sub-compact SUV, the 2024 Kia Sonet, in the Indian Market. Coming with a starting price of around 8 lakh INR (ex-showroom), the car comes in multiple variants and offered in 3-trim lines. The base HTE variant starts at around the base price boasting a 1.2l petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The sub-compact SUV intends to target a wider range of budget, with the high-end 1.5l diesel engine and a DCT unit variant going up to 15.7 lakh INR (ex-showroom price).

The car was first launched in the Indian market, in the year 2020 by the Korean Car Manufacturer. The Kia Sonet has been a relatively successful model, even though its elder sister Kia Seltos takes up the spotlight a lot of times. In the competitive sub-compact segment, Kia has its own tricks up the sleeve. With increased numbers of trims, multiple variants and colour choices, along with ADAS (advanced driver-assistance system) to help for a comfortable driving experience, it intends to take on the competitors. According to the Chief Sales and Business Strategy Officer, Kia India, the car is adding substantial value for money in the segment, backed with low maintenance costs and advanced technology. This aligns with the 2024 goals of the company to make the car models more accessible to the customers.

2024 Kia Sonet Variants- Engine and Transmission Choices

There are still three engine choices for the updated Kia Sonet, as well as a lot of other engine options. It has a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a five-speed manual drive. It has an output of 81 bhp and a power of 115 Nm. The 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine can be paired with either a semi-automatic (iMT) or direct-shift (DCT) gearbox. It has about 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. This sub-compact SUV, unlike many of its competitors, also has a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine option that can be paired with three different transmissions: a six-speed manual, a six-speed iMT, or a six-speed AT. It has 250 Nm of power and 114 bhp.

The variants offered include 2024 Kia Sonet powered by Smartstream G1.2, Smartstream G1.0T- , or the 1.5L CRDI VGT with the pricing ranging from 8 lakh INR to 15.7 lakh INR, ex-showroom prices. Please note that these are introductory prices and are subject to change. Stay tuned with Park+ for more details about the upcoming launches.
