Thrissur is a growing city with major highways connecting it with other cities in the state and other states. Thrissur is one of the largest cities in the state of Kerala and the cultural capital of the state, making it busy and bustling all day. The city connects with major national highways such as NH 544 and NH 47 to the northern and southern parts of the state. These highways also provide interstate connectivity. These highways are usually busy with traffic, especially during weekends and peak traffic hours.
Traffic E-Challans are issued in Thrissur for traffic violations. A traffic challan is a violation ticket issued to individuals for any infringements on the road.
Nowadays, traffic e-challans can be easily verified online for traffic violations such as speeding, racing, drunken driving, and other traffic law violations with a high degree of accuracy. Gone are the days when traffic police used to be present at every corner of the city to issue tickets.
Modern traffic signals incorporate sensors that capture and scan your vehicle's number plate, chassis number (located on the right side of your car), engine number, or VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). Even if a police officer did not issue a charge, your vehicle might still have an outstanding traffic ticket.
Step 1: Search "E-challan payments" or "Traffic E-Challan payments" online and click on the Parivahan website, or directly go to the Parivahan Sewa website.
Step 2: Open the Parivahan Sewa website.
Step 3: A search box appears, where you are offered three options. You can search your e-challan,
by entering your challan number
using your vehicle number, chassis number, or engine number (either one is a must).
by entering your driving license number to view the number of tickets raised against you.
It is recommended that you check your vehicle status every 15 days so that any e-challan issued might be cleared now and then. Having an expired or unpaid challan might result in extra fines.
Traffic challans can be paid either in person or online.
If you are paying your challan in person, visit any traffic police station in Thrissur. Take your violation ticket hardcopy, if issued. Most of the time, the charged phone number linked to the drivers license will be intimidated by a message. In some cases, if you are not alert, you can go to a traffic police station, show your challan number, and pay the fine.
If you wish to pay online, there are lots of options.
Your vehicles traffic e-challan can be viewed on the Parivahan Sewa website. It is the official website launched by the Government of India to check the active status of e-challans. You can visit the Parivahan Sewa website, get details of your challan, choose a payment method, and pay the amount.
This facility can also be used to check your vehicle and license status.
Every traffic rule violation has a separate penalty. In Thrissur, the penalties are decided as per the Motor Vehicle Act.
