Aligarh is a city in Uttar Pradesh, with traffic ranging from normal to slightly busy most of the time. Sometimes, people tend to violate traffic rules, which leads to a penalty that is issued through a challan.
Aligarh police offer both offline and online challans, known as e-challans. You can access the challans online and pay them as well, avoiding the inconvenience and the need to take time out of your schedule.
There are traffic challans for violations such as driving without a license, over-speeding, driving vehicles registered in other states for more than 12 months, using a phone while driving, jumping or violating traffic lights, driving without a pollution certificate, etc.
Checking challan in Aligarh has been made quite easy by the UP traffic police. Let's take a look at the steps involved:
Step 1: Visit the Uttar Pradesh traffic police website and choose Aligarh as your city.
Step 2: Under the traffic police services, choose the 'View your Challan' option.
Step 3: Enter the registration number of your vehicle.
Step 4: Enter the verification code and click on show details.
Step 5: You can view the challans that have been issued against your vehicle.
The system will display the challans that have been issued against your vehicle along with the details such as challan place, date/time, nearest RTO, traffic violation type, amount, and challan status.
You can also use the e-Parihavan website to view your challans. The process is similar, open the website, visit the e-challan page, enter the details of your vehicle, enter the captcha code, click on 'Get Details', and view the pending challans. You will get similar details on the website.
There are two ways to pay your challan in Aligarh:
The first method is to visit the official website of the UP Police. The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Get the details of your pending challans after performing the steps mentioned in the view challan section on this page.
Step 2: Choose the challan that you want to pay for.
Step 3: You will be redirected to the payment page, where you can choose from different modes of payment such as credit/debit card, net banking, UPI, etc.
Step 4: You will get a receipt upon successful payment. Keep the receipt for your future reference.
The second method is the offline method.
Print a copy of your challan after viewing it. Take it to the nearest RTO or traffic police station.
You will be required to carry your driver's license and address proof along with the challan.
You can make the payment in person through this method. Though it is recommended to pay your challan online as it saves you time and hassle compared to the offline method.
The UP government has strict rules and penalties against traffic violations across the state. Traffic violations such as talking on the phone while driving, driving without a license, wrong-side driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, violating traffic lights, etc. are punishable and the violators have to pay penalties for the same.

Enter vehicle number
Mention your vehicle registration number, and click on the Challan details
Check the E-Challan Status
Now, click on the update button to check the e-challan status
Check & Pay Pending Challans
Once done, check your challan, and pay the pending fees
Receive a confirmation with transaction ID
After a successful transaction, you will receive a confirmation on your respective mobile number along with the transaction ID
Visit the Parivahan Website
Go to the eChallan System Link, and a login page will appear
Click on Get Challan Details
Choose between Challan Number, Vehicle Number or DL Number to mention the car details
Enter Details and Captcha
Details of the Challan (if any) will be shown
Select the e-Challan
Get details of the offence and penalty to be paid
Proceed with the Payment
Upon successful completion, you will receive a confirmation along with the transaction ID
