Lotus has launched the Eletre electric SUV in India at about Rs 2.55 crore to Rs 2.99 crore (ex-showroom).
It is a dramatic, high-performance looking EV from a brand known for sports cars, but it does not fully recreate that analogue sports-car feel.
The car is a current luxury electric SUV, not an Elise. Buyers will be choosing it for design and the Lotus badge as much as for a track-day brief.
