Volkswagen’s New Entry-Level EV Set for 2027 Debut

Volkswagen is gearing up to launch an affordable electric vehicle priced around €20,000 (Rs. 18.15 lakh). The concept will be unveiled in March 2025, with the production model set to debut in 2027.

Volkswagen’s New Entry-Level EV: Affordable Electric Mobility for the Future

Volkswagen is making significant strides in the affordable electric vehicle (EV) segment, with plans to introduce a new entry-level EV priced around €20,000 (Rs. 18.15 lakh). This budget-friendly EV is expected to make electric mobility more accessible to a wider audience. While the concept version will be showcased in March 2025, the final production model is slated for a 2027 launch.

Volkswagen’s Small Electric Car Family

This upcoming EV will be a crucial part of Volkswagen’s new small electric car family, developed under the Brand Group Core within the Volkswagen Group. It will be built on the latest evolution of the modular electric drive (MEB) platform, ensuring high efficiency, improved range, and affordability.

The new entry-level model will be positioned below the ID. 2all, which is Volkswagen’s first all-electric small car set to launch in 2026 at a base price of under €25,000 (Rs. 22.68 lakh). Together, these models will form Volkswagen’s strategy to dominate the budget-friendly EV segment.

What to Expect from Volkswagen’s New Entry-Level EV?

While details remain scarce, Volkswagen’s upcoming affordable EV is expected to feature:

  • Compact design for city-friendly driving

  • Efficient battery technology with a practical driving range

  • Advanced connectivity and driver assistance features

  • High safety standards aligned with Volkswagen’s commitment to quality

Volkswagen’s Plan for Affordable EVs

Volkswagen is positioning itself as a leader in affordable electric mobility, focusing on reducing EV production costs without compromising quality. By introducing a budget-friendly EV at €20,000, the company aims to compete with emerging low-cost electric models from rivals like Renault and Stellantis.

With the growing global demand for affordable, eco-friendly vehicles, Volkswagen’s new entry-level EV could become a game-changer in the mass-market electric mobility sector. More details will be revealed when the concept car is showcased in March 2025. Stay tuned for updates as Volkswagen moves closer to making electric vehicles more accessible than ever.
