WagonR Tops the Charts, Creta Hits Record Sales
The Indian car market witnessed strong momentum in January 2025, with top brands reporting impressive year-on-year growth. Maruti Suzuki maintained its lead, securing multiple spots in the top 10 list, while Hyundai’s Creta set a new sales record for the brand.
Leading the pack was the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which registered 24,078 units, marking an impressive 36% growth compared to January 2024. Its practicality, fuel efficiency, and affordability continue to make it a popular choice among Indian buyers.
In second place, the Maruti Baleno continued its strong performance with 19,965 units sold, showing a modest 2% increase from the previous year. Despite new competitors in the premium hatchback space, Baleno remains a customer favorite thanks to its feature-loaded package and reliability.
Hyundai Creta: Highest Monthly Sales Ever
The biggest highlight of January 2025 was the Hyundai Creta, which claimed the third position with 18,522 units, registering an impressive 40% growth. This surge in sales was largely fueled by the arrival of the new-generation Creta and the launch of the Creta Electric, which added to its appeal.
