Tata Motors has announced that the Nexon EV has achieved a sales milestone of 50,000 units.
The car made its debut in January 2020 and is offered in two variants: Prime and Max. There is a Dark Edition on offer as well. The Tata Nexon EV retails at a starting price of Rs 14.49 lakh and the top model will set you back by Rs 19.54 lakh.
The company says that the Nexon EV pitches 15 percent of the overall Nexon sales and now is available in over 500 cities. The company recently updated the Nexon EV with new features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a new and better reverse camera, an eight-speaker sound system, and a voice assistant to name a few. These features are exclusive to the XZ+ LUX and EV Max Dark variants.
The Nexon Prime houses a 30.2 kWh battery and the Max is powered by a 40.5 kWh battery, both battery packs are paired to a single electric motor that produces 127 bhp of power and 245 Nm of peak torque for the Prime and 141 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque for the Max. The range claimed for the Prime is 312 km on a single charge and 437 km for the Max. A software update for the Max has hiked the range to 453 km.
The IP-67 batteries are offered with a 3.3 kW or a 7.2 kW charger and the company claims a 0-80 percent charge in 60 minutes for the Prime with a DC fast charger, and the same amount of charge in 56 minutes with a 50 kW DC fast charger for the Max variant.
