Tata Curvv EV Electric SUV to Launch Tomorrow: Expected Price and Features

Tata Motors has all set it up to make its bold step into the compact SUV market with a stylish SUV-coupe design. It is gearing up to launch its latest electric vehicle, the Tata Curvv EV, on August 7. This new model represents Tata’s determination to be in style with its upcoming generation trends. Alongside the electric version, an internal combustion engine (ICE) variant is expected later in the year.

Design and Aesthetics

The Tata Curvv EV stands out with its SUV-coupe body style, blending modern aesthetics with practicality. The front of the vehicle is adorned with extensive LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and headlights. The rear features connected LED taillights, offering a unique welcome and goodbye animation when the car is locked or unlocked. The sleek, slanting roofline, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and flush door handles enhance its sophisticated look, while piano black elements on the wheel arches add a touch of ruggedness.

Platform and Performance

Built on Tata's new active.ev platform, first seen in the Punch EV, the Curvv EV promises a flexible and robust driving experience. This platform supports various drivetrain configurations, including front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), and all-wheel drive (AWD). The vehicle is expected to offer a driving range between 300 km and 600 km, making it suitable for both urban commutes and longer journeys.

Range and Charging

The Tata Curvv EV is expected to deliver a range of around 500 km on a single charge. It will come with two battery pack options, offering versatility to suit different driving needs. Additionally, the EV will feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, brake regeneration, multiple driving modes, and DC fast charging capability.

Interior Features

Tata Motors has teased several advanced interior features for the Curvv EV. The vehicle will be equipped with a 12.3-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system, incorporating the Arcade.ev app suite and various voice assistants. The EV will also feature a powered tailgate with gesture activation, ventilated seats, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, and a two-step reclining rear seat with a center console. Paddle shifters will allow for easy regeneration level adjustments.

Safety and Technology

Safety is a key focus for the Tata Curvv EV, which will include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with driver doze-off alert, six airbags, and all-wheel disc brakes. Other notable features include a digital TFT display on the instrument cluster, wireless charging, ambient lighting, auto climate control, and a new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.

Price and Competition

The Tata Curvv EV is set to join the mid-size electric SUV segment, competing with models like the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX. Tata Motors is expected to price the Curvv EV competitively, with an estimated range between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).

To sum up, The Tata Curvv EV is poised to make a significant impact in the electric SUV market with its unique design, advanced features, and competitive pricing. As Tata Motors continues to innovate, the Curvv EV is a promising addition to its growing electric vehicle lineup, catering to the evolving needs of modern drivers.
