"The Vision 7S concept showcased at the Auto Expo will come to India in production-spec in 2027," said Petr Janeba, brand director, Skoda India.
The concept will give rise to a three-row SUV that shall be produced internationally in 2026, and just recently, a camouflaged test mule was spotted doing road trials in Sweden.
Skoda first showcased the Vision 7S concept in 2022, the first of the brand's Modern Solid design language.
Skoda Vision 7S: Modern Solid exterior design
Flush door handles were fitted to the prototype, while the concept's long sloping roofline was carried through. Most of the design elements, however, have been watered down, including the heavy door sills. In general, the new SUV has a more slab-sided look compared to the concept. At about 4.9 meters in length, it is roughly 250mm longer than the Enya,q making it Skoda's largest electric SUV yet.
Skoda Vision 7S: Interior, Features
The interior of the prototype has not been shown yet, but the concept had a lovely oval steering. The interior has a buttonless dashboard and a large rotatable touchscreen (similar to BYD). The concept was just a 4-seater, but one can expect the production-spec version to offer 5-seat and 7-seat versions. Other sustainable materials apart from leather-free upholstery were used in the concept that might also find their way into the production model.
Skoda Vision 7S: Battery Size, Range
Skoda unveiled the Vision 7S concept with an 89kWh battery pack with a claimed WLTP range of over 600km. Skoda said the production-spec model will support fast charging of up to 200kW. Powertrain details remain unclear, but the SUV can be expected to provide rear- and all-wheel drive options with outputs close to the Enyaq facelift.
Conclusion
This vehicle is sure to be a game-changer in the fledgling electric SUV segment of India, coming to a showroom near us in 2027. It has spacious three-row seating, sustainable interior materials, and modern Solid design language. It would combine real-life usability with futuristic appeal. The probable range of around 600km is already talking about fast-charging capability up to 200kW, setting it up to be an influential contender in the premium EV lineup for that little added dash of class. More details will come to light as Skoda will be testing the vehicle in its production specification closely before its global launch in 2026. But, making it very clear, Vision 7S is set to be an important step in the electrification of Skoda, making its immediate reception in India that much warmer in the much-evolving EV landscape.
