The Laurin and Klement (L&K) edition of the Skoda Enyaq SUV and Enyaq Coupe has been available internationally.
Skoda has omitted the 'iV' suffix from the Enyaq series. In addition to improvements in power and range, the new L&K variation includes aesthetic upgrades and a new software interface that will be used in subsequent Skoda models. The Enyaq L&K delivers an improved, refined driving experience and is positioned below the performance-focused vRS model.
The power output of the rear-wheel-drive Enyaq L&K 85, formerly known as the Enyaq iV 80, has grown from 204 horsepower to 282 horsepower. The range has also been increased from 510 km to 570 km. The Enyaq iV 80x all-wheel drive model, which formerly produced 265 horsepower, now has a power increase to 282 horsepower in the L&K 85x version. Compared to the 460km offered by the 80x model, the all-wheel-drive option now provides a range of 550km on the WLTP cycle.
Performance-wise, the Enyaq L&K 85 sprints from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 6.7 seconds, 2 seconds faster than the iV 80. Similar to the 80x, the 85x variation runs the 0-100kph sprint in 6.6 seconds instead of the 80x's 6.9 seconds. The highest speed limit for the all-wheel and rear-wheel drive models is now 180 kph, the same as the vRS model.
Both models still use the 82kWh battery, which can be quickly charged using a DC fast charger from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes. Another software update from Skoda adds a new pre-heating feature for the battery in L&K models. Beginning in 2024, this functionality will be added to all Enyaq variations. The two-mode pre-heating mechanism ensures the battery achieves the ideal temperature before charging.
The first is a manual option in which the driver presses a button on the main infotainment display to turn on the battery pre-heating. On the other hand, the automated mode uses information from the navigation system to pre-warm the battery while travelling to a fast-charging station.
Skoda added platinum grey accents to the bumpers, rear diffuser, and wing mirrors to set the L&K variation apart from other Enyaq variants. The roof rails, window surrounds, and grille frame are also finished in chrome. Badges are attached to the front fenders, as is customary for L&K vehicles. The Enyaq L&K comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels and LED matrix headlights, with 21-inch wheels available as an extra. The Enyaq L&K's dashboard design is identical to that of the standard models, but it has new beige upholstery as standard or optional black upholstery. The new heating and ventilation feature for the front seats and a massaging feature is exclusive to the L&K models. The L&K variants also come with brand-new pedals with an aluminium finish.
A significant improvement to the infotainment system includes a better user interface that will be added to Skoda and other Enyaq variations. New colours, updated visuals, a completely new menu structure, a brand-new home screen, customisable pages, and shortcut buttons are among the improvements that seek to increase usefulness and usability.
A streamlined temperature control menu and updated navigation maps are also included in the software upgrade for the Enyaq series.
