In February 2026, Nissan intends to formally introduce the brand-new Tekton SUV to the Indian market.
The Tekton, which shares a base with the Renault Duster and is positioned to compete with the best small SUVs, will be a crucial component of Nissan's expanding lineup.
For the Indian market, Nissan has stated that the Tekton C-SUV will be formally introduced in February 2026. This announcement was made in conjunction with information about the Gravite MPV, another future model, as part of the company's ambitious plan to expand its market share in India.
Vibrant Design and Shared Origins
Preview drawings of the Tekton reveal a tough and powerful posture, heavily referencing Nissan's iconic Patrol SUV. Its unique grille, squared-off form, and contemporary lighting components all contribute to the brand's new design aesthetic.
The SUV's construction is based on the CMF-B platform, which also serves as the foundation for the new Renault Duster. This suggests that the two vehicles may have comparable engines and feature sets.
Taking on a Challenging Market
Popular compact and mid-size SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, Tata Curvv, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun are directly competitive with Nissan's Tekton. This makes the impending SUV one of Nissan's most strategically important releases to date, with the goal of attracting interest in a market that has expanded quickly in India.
Plans for Local Production and Exports
The business intends to export the Tekton to both right-hand-drive (RHD) and left-hand-drive (LHD) countries. It will be produced at the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai.
Local manufacturing promotes cost-effectiveness and fits with Nissan's larger plan to increase its presence in both local and foreign markets.
Expectations Prior to Launch
Although Nissan has scheduled the official unveiling for February 2026, more information about the complete feature list, available engines, and cost will probably be made available closer to that day. As Nissan gets closer to the SUV's official launch, enthusiasts and prospective customers should anticipate additional updates.
