Nissan India has announced that bookings for the new-generation X-Trail SUV are now open ahead of its official launch on August 1, 2024. This new addition will join the Magnite in Nissan's India lineup and compete against models like the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and MG Gloster.
Key Features and Specifications
Platform and Design: The Nissan X-Trail is based on the CMF-C platform and maintains the same design as its global version launched in Japan in 2022. It features a split-design headlight, LED DRLs, and a V-shaped chrome grille. The rear end showcases wraparound LED tail lights and 'X-Trail' badges, complemented by chunky cladding and 20-inch wheels.
Dimensions: The SUV measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,705 mm and a ground clearance of 210 mm.
Interior and Technology: The cabin boasts an all-black theme with fabric upholstery. It includes a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, a wireless phone charger, and sliding and reclining second-row seats.
Safety Features: The X-Trail is equipped with seven airbags, an electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Engine and Performance: Under the hood, it has a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 163 hp and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox.
Booking and Availability
Bookings for the Nissan X-Trail can be made at select dealerships across India. As the vehicle will be sold as a completely built-up unit (CBU), it is expected to be available in limited numbers initially.

Once launched, the Nissan X-Trail will compete with established models in the segment, including the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and MG Gloster.
