"Clean Toilet Picture Challenge" is a new program launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Reporting an unclean or unsanitary restroom at a toll plaza on a national highway can help you earn ₹1,000, which will be credited to your FASTag account.
This incentive program is a component of NHAI's Special Campaign 5.0, which aims to improve user experience and sanitation on Indian roadways. The initiative will run till October 31, 2025.
How to Participate
It only takes a few minutes to participate.
Install the official NHAI mobile app, Rajmargyatra.
Take a picture of an unclean or unsanitary restroom that is kept up to date by NHAI.
Verify that your photo is time-stamped, geo-tagged, and clear.
Enter your name, location, vehicle registration number (VRN), and cellphone number in the app.
Send in the picture for evaluation.
NHAI will credit ₹1,000 to your FASTag account associated with the VRN you filed if your report is validated.
Important guidelines to be aware of
Here are some important things to consider before you start taking photos:
Only NHAI-maintained or NHAI-constructed restrooms are eligible. Restaurants, dhabas, and petrol pump restrooms are not included.
Throughout the campaign period, each vehicle (VRN) is only eligible to win once.
The first genuine report receives the incentive, which can only be given to each toilet once every day.
Duplicate or manipulated photos will be rejected following manual and AI inspection.
Why NHAI started this campaign
Making highway restrooms safer and cleaner for everyone is the straightforward objective. Involving regular travelers would help NHAI create a community-driven feedback system for improved toll plaza sanitary standards.
According to NHAI authorities, this program will also guarantee operator responsibility and aid in the quicker identification of maintenance issues. It's a minor incentive, it's a significant step toward "Swachh Bharat" on the roads.
