New Sierra SUV from Tata Motors will be given to India's Women's World Cup winners

Tata Motors has announced that each member of India's Women's World Cup-winning cricket team would receive a brand-new Tata Sierra SUV as a special tribute. The gesture represents empowerment and patriotism while celebrating the team's outstanding accomplishment on the international front. As Tata Motors honours the winners who have motivated millions of people nationwide with their tenacity and talent, it also signifies the much-awaited resuscitation of the storied Sierra marque, fusing athletic brilliance with automotive legacy.

  • In honour of India's victory in the Women's World Cup, Tata Motors has given each player a new Tata Sierra SUV.

  • The project celebrates women's sporting achievements in India as well as the comeback of an iconic SUV.

Every member of the Indian women's national cricket team, who won the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in 2025, will receive a premium version of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.'s future Tata Sierra SUV, the company stated.

According to the automaker, this is a celebration of the team's enthusiasm and a union of two "legends": the returning Sierra model and the winning team.

Why is it important

The announcement was made after India won the Women's World Cup by defeating the South African women's national cricket team by 52 runs in the championship match.

Tata Motors presents the action as a celebration of tenacity, inspiration, and patriotism rather than merely a reward.

About the latest Tata Sierra

November 25, 2025, is the planned launch date for the new Sierra. In contrast to the initial three-door model, the current version is a five-door SUV targeted at mainstream consumers and families.

Features including a panoramic sunroof, linked LED tail lamps, and a three-screen cockpit layout (digital instrument cluster, central touch screen, and front passenger screen) are revealed in teaser details.

Although the powertrain options are yet unknown, there are rumours that a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine may be used, along with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Importance of the gesture

Tata Motors is making a powerful symbolic statement in support of women's sports by awarding the first batch of these cars to the world-champion team, especially a team that ended a protracted World Cup title drought.

As they have done in cricket, the present not only recognizes the players' accomplishments but also associates them with a brand and model that inspires legacy and renewal.
