The A6 e-tron, the EV version of the A6 sedan, is anticipated to debut in India later this year after already being sold in a few foreign markets. Though both Audi models use the A6 branding, it's important to remember that they are constructed on completely separate underpinnings.
Volkswagen's PPE skateboard is used by the A6 e-tron, while the PPC platform will be used by the ICE-powered car.
Design Changes in the Next-Gen A6
Audi's most recent design language is probably going to be seen in the sixth generation A6. Its design will probably be more in keeping with the third-generation Audi Q5 and A5, which were unveiled the previous year.
Along with the brand's iconic hexagonal grille and massive vertical air vents on the bumper, the front end may have streamlined headlamps infused with Audi's Matrix LEDs. On the back, a revised bumper and a light bar that spans the width of the vehicle are expected.
Engine Options in the Next-Gen Audi A6
Both petrol and diesel engine options will be offered for the ICE-powered 6th generation A6, albeit India might not receive the latter. While the TDI models might feature a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine, the TFSI variants are probably going to have a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine. A 48V mild hybrid system and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission will be paired with both powerplants. A more aggressive S6 model with a 3.0L turbo-petrol V6 might also be introduced in some areas.
Conclusion
Since the 2019 arrival of the current model A6 in India, the Mercedes-Benz E Class and BMW 5 Series, its closest rivals, have undergone generational changes. Thus, a new version of the Audi sedan is overdue, and it remains to be seen how long it will take for the next-generation Audi A6 to arrive in India following its worldwide launch.
