The smart key for the MG Comet EV has a technological edge to it and is unlike anything seen before. It has three buttons for locking, unlocking and opening the tailboard. It has a distinctive square shape. It's odd that there isn't a visible slot for a keychain. The EV will also come with a Digital Key that enables the owner to allow access of the car to others as well.
The MG Comet EV, which has a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh was introduced by MG Motor India. As MG will have ZS EV and Comet EV in the portfolio, catering to the audience with two electric cars under Rs 25 lakh, Morris Garages, the British-Chinese brand, expects 30% of its sales to accrue from the electric vehicle segment this year. The 17.3 KWH Li-ion battery in the MG Comet EV has a claimed range of 230 km and can be fully charged in about 7 hours and it is said that the speed has been restricted to 100kmph.
With an IP67-rated battery, the MG Comet EV is extremely dust- and water-resistant. The MG Comet EV's overall structure is made of a High Strength Vehicle Body with 17 hot-stamped panels, and it includes features like Dual Front Airbags, ABS + EBD, Front & Rear 3-Point Seat Belts, Rear Parking Camera & Sensor, TPMS (Indirect), and ISOFIX Child Seat.
