Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new A-Class for Rs. 45.80 lakh and the AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ for Rs. 92.50 lakh.
The company also said that a diesel option would soon hit the market by the fourth quarter of this year. The updated facelift includes new styling and an upgraded infotainment system. The front grille is now redesigned with a Mercedes motif to give the car a fresh appeal, the car comes shod with 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, and it gets an LED headlamp and taillamp setup, the rear bumper has also been redesigned.
On the other hand, the AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ gets a new AMG-specific grille flanked by redesigned LED headlamp units. The company is also selling AMG rear Aerofoil as a part of the accessory to help buyers customise their car.
Step inside the cabin of the A-Class, and you are welcomed by two 10.25-inch touchscreens integrated as one, a touchscreen infotainment unit and the instrument cluster. The car has the latest MBUX system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include steering-mounted controls, cruise control, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a digital key and seven airbags. The car also gets the “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant, and the USB charging capacity has been hiked.
The AMG’s cabin has been given a proper AMG treatment with a black and silver theme, and the AMG steering wheel with touch control panels. The car also gets the current gen NTG7 MBUX infotainment system.
The A-Class uses a good 1.3-litre, turbocharged petrol engine coupled with seven-speed DCT belts with 163 bhp power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit mated to an eight-speed AMG SpeedShift gearbox that sends about a good 421 bhp of power to all the wheels. The company claims that the car can sprint 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds.
