Maruti Victoris Mid-Variants No Longer Have Leatherette Seats; Prices Stay the Same

Without changing ex-showroom prices, Maruti has eliminated the leatherette seat upholstery from the Victoris ZXi and ZXi (O) models. Learn everything there is to know about the implications for purchasers, as well as how the SUV's other features and cost have not changed.

According to several sources, leatherette seat upholstery would no longer be available for the mid-spec Maruti Victoris SUV models ZXi and ZXi (O). Only the highest-end ZXi Plus and ZXi Plus (O) trims are now eligible for the feature.

Crucially, Maruti has maintained the Victoris range's initial ex-showroom prices despite this modification.

Details on the Feature Removal

  • Maruti has removed the leatherette upholstery from the ZXi and ZXi (O) models.

  • On certain trims, every other feature is still there: 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 7-inch (or in some sources, 10.1-inch) touchscreen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, auto air conditioning, folding ORVMs, six-airbag safety kit, ESC, TPMS, etc.

  • The decision essentially changes the value proposition: you must choose the costlier ZXi Plus or ZXi Plus (O) trims if you want the Victoris' leather-look seats.

Cost & Effect on Purchasers

  • Reputable websites state that the prices are the same as when they were first introduced. For instance, the base-color ZXi petrol manual costs about Rs 13.57 lakh, while the ZXi (O) petrol manual costs about Rs 14.23 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

  • Previously, some publications claimed that the price of these models had increased by almost Rs 15,000; however, this seems to be a misinterpretation of dual-tone color surcharges rather than a real increase.

  • As a buyer, this implies that if you were thinking about those mid-variants, you now receive one less premium feature for the same price, which is something to consider.

Why This Is Important

With its robust safety package (5-star ratings), plenty of features, and options for gasoline, hybrid, and CNG powertrains, the Victoris is a significant introduction for Maruti Suzuki in the mid-size SUV market.

Variant-specific features frequently influence consumers in such a competitive market (the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are competitors).

By eliminating the leatherette seats from the ZXi/ZXi (O), Maruti is quietly urging customers who desire a completely luxurious experience to choose the ZXi Plus trims. This makes comparing mid-variants more important for buyers who are looking for value.

What Do Potential Buyers Need to Do?

  1. Check the feature list: Verify the feature list to make sure you are booking the correct variant, such as ZXi or ZXi (O), which is expected to include leatherette.

  2. Think about the upgrade: Compare the price differences between the ZXi Plus and ZXi Plus (O) if you value leatherette seats or a more upscale vibe.

  3. View the complete feature list: Victoris provides a robust specification beyond upholstery, yet variant difference is more important than ever.

  4. Verify prices again: Although the official statement is "introductory prices unchanged," you should always validate ex-showroom prices for your city and available colors.
