In a significant achievement for Maruti Suzuki India, the renowned automotive manufacturer has surpassed the milestone of 10,000 new car subscription sales with its innovative program, Maruti Suzuki Subscribe. Launched in July 2020, this subscription initiative has provided consumers across India with a more accessible avenue to lease a car, running parallel to the brand's conventional retail sales channels.
The Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program has witnessed substantial uptake, particularly in major metropolitan areas, with over 50% of its customers being added in the current financial year. Covering more than 25 cities nationwide, including prominent locations such as Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore, the initiative has gained traction among Indian buyers seeking flexible ownership experiences.
According to data released by Maruti Suzuki, popular models like the Brezza SUV, Baleno premium hatchback, Grand Vitara hybrid SUV, and the MPV Ertiga have emerged as top choices among subscribers, collectively constituting 53% of total subscriptions.
Under the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program, monthly rentals encompass various expenses such as vehicle price, registration and RTO charges, insurance (both new and renewal), service and maintenance, along roadside assistance. The program operates in collaboration with five subscription partners and is available in cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and many others.
Commenting on this significant milestone, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed his satisfaction, stating, "Since its introduction, the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program has steadily gained acceptance among Indian buyers who prefer flexible buying and ownership experiences."
Srivastava highlighted the growing trend of modern consumers opting for such ownership models and emphasized the notable surge witnessed in the current financial year, with over 50% of total subscribers added during this period. He also reiterated the popularity of models like Brezza, Baleno, Grand Vitara, and Ertiga, which collectively dominate the subscription preferences, accounting for more than half of the overall subscriptions.
Maruti Suzuki's success with its Subscribe program not only reflects evolving consumer preferences but also underscores the brand's commitment to offering innovative solutions tailored to the diverse needs of the Indian automotive market.
