Maruti Suzuki has announced its sale for the month of May, the OEM has clocked a total sales of 1,80,221 units as opposed to 1,64,859 for the same month in 2022.
This is the total sales which include passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles combined. The passenger vehicle segment saw an uptick registering a sale of 1,76,218 units for this month over the sale of 1,60,459 units for the same month last year, registering a 10.32 per cent growth.
The domestic sales stood at 1,46,596 units which included a sale of 5,010 units to other OEMs and exports of 26,477 units. Exports see a decline of 2.6 percent from 26,477 to 27,191 for the same month. The domestic sale for the passenger vehicle segment saw a hike of 15.3 percent with 1,43,708 units for May as opposed to 1,24,474 units for the same month in 2022.
The compact segment comprises Alto and S-Presso, this segment saw a dip of 30 per cent with a sale of 12,236 units as compared to 17,408 units sold in the same month for the last year.
The compact car segment includes models such as the Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire. It saw an increase of five per cent with 71,419 units sold against the 67,947 units sold in May 2022.
The mid-size sedan Ciaz clocked a sale of 992 units from the 586 units sold in May 2022. The utility vehicle segment that includes Brezza, Grand Vitara and Ertiga saw a hike of 65 per cent with 46,243 units sold against the sale of 28,051 units for the same period in 2022.
