Maruti Suzuki Celerio - Reasons to buy

Introduction

Entry-level cars are a popular choice among first-time car buyers and two-wheeler owners seeking an upgrade. Maruti Suzuki Celerio emerges as a good option for new car buyers and is available in both petrol and CNG options. The Celerio is available in four trims - LXi, VXi, ZXi, and the top-spec ZXi+. The hatchback is available in manual transmission and AGS (commonly known as AMT) options. The AMT option is available across all variants except for the base LXi variant.

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio is available at a starting price of Rs 5.33 lakh to Rs 7.12 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec version.

What is good about it?

The new Maruti Celerio offers you better cabin space over the outgoing model. Additionally, the updated model offers more legroom and wider shoulder room for the occupants. The Indian automaker also claims to offer a larger boot space over the older model. Interestingly, the AMT version attracts a premium of just Rs 55,000 over the manual trims.

The vehicle is based on Maruti's latest Heartect platform. The new Celerio features a 3D organic sculptured design with a sweeping headlamp pattern. Further, the hatchback also gets a redesigned grille with a chrome strip connecting the headlamps. The vehicle gets circular fog lights in black housings. The rear section is highlighted by the unique dewdrop-styled taillights. The side profile in the top-spec version looks sporty with the set of 15-inch urbane black alloy wheels.

The top feature highlights in the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio include

  • Seven-inch SmartPlay Studio with navigation function

  • Electric ORVMs with adjustment and folding functions

  • The audio controls are mounted on the steering wheel

Under the hood, the petrol version of the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio is powered by a three-cylinder, 1.0-litre K10C engine which generates 66bhp at 5,500rpm and 89Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. This engine is available in five-speed manual transmission and AMT options.

The CNG version also gets the same petrol engine, but with a different power output figure. In the CNG mode, this engine produces 56bhp at 5,300rpm and 82.1Nm of torque at 3,400rpm. The CNG variants are offered only with a five-speed manual transmission.

The variant-wise fuel efficiency figures are as follows -
