Maruti Celerio Now India's Most Affordable Car with 6 Airbags

In a significant move towards enhanced vehicle safety, Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Celerio with six airbags as standard, following similar upgrades to the Swift and Dzire. This strategic update makes the Celerio the most affordable car in India, with comprehensive safety features.

Increased Safety For Your Favorite Maruti Car!

If one were to turn back the pages of time and discuss cars safer in India; actually, many entrants would not have listed Maruti among them; but the valid point being made here is that this isn't the age where Maruti simply walked into a country, telling that it is building safer models, leaving it at that.

Remember, in a peak last year, the new Dzire got 5-star safety, and the automaker even introduced 6-airbags as standard with its new Swift and Dzire models.

But, being an older model, the automaker has also made it safer now! Which model is it? - Let us check it out.

Maruti Celerio 6-airbags. What is New?

Last year, Maruti introduced the standard feature of six airbags in its new Swift and Dzire models. This was now followed up with demand by many Maruti enthusiasts, asking the automaker to supplement its country's other models with the 6-airbag standard. The automaker has heard the demands and added even more safety to its Celerio hatchback.

Now, the current brochure of Maruti Celerio shows only this model updated with six airbags as standard! Besides the six airbags, the Celerio gets the addition of a 3-point seatbelt for use with all passengers. Right now, the update makes the Maruti Celerio the most affordable car in the Indian market, with 6-airbags as standard!

Earlier, the crown holder was the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Further, the now-entitled updated Tata Tiago only has two airbags!

The added benefits of six airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all occupants improve overall safety in this hatch.

Other Things to Keep in Mind

With the standard application of 6 airbags to all its newly updated models, Maruti is likely to upgrade its other models like Brezza, Grand Vitara, and Baleno too! Talking about its pricing, the new Maruti Celerio is priced from Rs 6.63 lakh to Rs 8.62 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Yes, Maruti has increased the pricing of its hatchback, but it is still the most affordable 6-airbag and 3-point seatbelt safety feature-as-standard car ever built!

Reason Behind This Move Made By Maruti?

Some might wonder why Maruti refreshed the Celerio instead of the Brezza, Baleno, or others. Well, we all know how Maruti is a market leader in sales, more significant than 1 lakh. Most of its models are seated on the best 25 sellers' list, while its Celerio is having a tough time churning out good sales numbers. Now that Celerio is updated, it is just a matter of time before Maruti expects its hatchback to develop better sales within the Indian scenario!
