One of the most anticipated launches from Mahindra, the Thar 5-door, has been spied undisguised. Leaked images reveal the front end of a production-ready version, providing a glimpse into its new design and features.
Mahindra Thar 5-Door: What’s New?
New Grille Design: The Thar 5-door features a six-slot grille, each double-stacked, replacing the current 3-door seven-slot design.
LED Projector Headlamps: Retaining the circular headlamp design, the new model includes LED projectors with C-shaped DRLs.
360-Degree Camera Setup: The wing mirror appears to have a camera, suggesting the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system.
Rear Door Handle: Positioned on the door frame, similar to the previous-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Interior Displays: Equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Expected Launch and Rivals
The Mahindra Thar 5-door is likely to be unveiled on August 15, 2023, mirroring the reveal date of the Thar 3-door in 2020. Production has already begun, and dealers are accepting unofficial bookings. The Thar 5-door will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door, Maruti Suzuki Jimny, and other midsize SUVs like the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
