v

From the launch of the impressive Land Rover Defender Octa to the innocuous facelift of the Kia EV6, up to exciting spy-shots from some other upcoming models, including Tata Altroz and the new-gen Kia Seltos, here is what went down last week in the auto world.

Top Highlights Last Week from the Auto Industry

That last exciting week of March is a car lover's dream. The last week brought the big news; the most anticipated high-performance SUV was launched; the soon-to-be-launched new models gave fresh teasers; and one of the biggest regulatory changes turned the tide.

The headlines of the Land Rover Defender Octa read, "The most powerful Defender yet," while Kia introduced the facelifted EV6 with some requisite upgrades. There were also spy shots of the new-generation Kia Seltos and facelifted Tata Altroz spying on soon-to-happen major changes.

This is a thorough breakdown of all the top car news from 24-29 March.

2025 Land Rover Defender Octa Debuts with Mind-Boggling Power

Land Rover's recently unveiled Defender Octa is the most powerful Defender to date. It is available exclusively in a 5-door variant and possesses not only enhanced performance but extra dimensions and a super-strong powertrain vis-a-vis the standard Defender.

One exciting SUV to hit the market this year may be regarded as setting all standards in rugged design and a powerful engine, all associated with improved off-road capabilities.

Kia has finally launched the facelifted EV6 that exhibits some minor internal design tweaks, a bigger battery, and new tech updates. No price hike comes with this facelift making it as competitive as always in the premium EV category, making the 2025 Kia EV6 a strong contender in the electric SUV market alongside the enhanced range and a freshening up of styling.

Nissan Teased Two New Models for India

Nissan has provided teasers for two new models that will be part of the expansion of its portfolio in India. The first includes an MPV built along the lines of the Renault Triber, and the second is a compact SUV inspired by the upcoming new-gen Duster from Renault. With these launches, Nissan wants to build a firm ground for itself in the Indian market by 2026.

Tata Altroz Facelift Spotted with New Feature

A new piece of feature also seen under test on the testing mule of the 2025 Tata Altroz was the new fresher design elements along with a first-in-segment offering. However, much is under wraps about them, but this update could eventually become premium for the Altroz hatchback for a better competitive advantage.

New-Generation Kia Seltos Interior Spied Overseas

The redesigned 2025 Kia Seltos was caught testing in South Korea before its launch, showing its significantly overhauled interior. Although exterior photographs have leaked previously, this time, it provides a glimpse of the all-new cabin layout that reflects the essence of Kia's premium models, suggesting a very modern and high-end ambiance.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Details & Bookings Open

Volkswagen now reveals the key specifications and color options for the follow-up Tiguan R-Line, along with pre-launch bookings for the same. Enhanced comfort, safety, and premium features describe the new R-Line variant's promises, offering buyers a more luxurious option for their SUV.

Force Motors, Gurkha SUVs for Indian Defence Forces

Force Motors has bagged a significant contract for the supply of a large number of Gurkha SUVs for the Indian Defence Force. These rugged off-roaders are to be used by the Army and Air Force, further cementing the Gurkha in the history of military-grade vehicles.

Skoda Kushaq & Slavia Updated Colors, Prices

Skoda has slightly updated the colors for the Kushaq and Slavia, making some shades optional for selected variants. No new exterior colors are being introduced; just the opted colors now would allow the buyer various customization options at extra cost.

Conclusion

The last week of March was all about launches, spy shots, teasers, and regulatory happenings. From the arrival of the Land Rover Defender Octa to the facelifted Kia EV6 and the soon-launching Tata Altroz and Kia Seltos, the Indian car market is churning out exciting new models.
