Lamborghini Believes India's Tier I & II Cities Have Huge Potential For Development

Lamborghini recognizes the vast potential for growth in India's Tier I and II cities. With a focus on luxury automotive markets, the brand anticipates significant development opportunities. Lamborghini's commitment to expanding its presence reflects the increasing interest and purchasing power in these cities. As the demand for high-end luxury vehicles rises, Lamborghini aims to strengthen its footprint, offering enthusiasts in these regions an exclusive and unparalleled driving experience.

Lamborghini is considering Tier I and Tier II cities to expand its position in India's luxury car market. The decision was made to enable Lamborghini to access India's expanding high-end automobile market in India, where demand has grown significantly in recent years. The company wants to attract wealthy and high-net-worth people (HNIs) who enjoy driving luxurious cars.

According to Sharad Agarwal, the company's India Head, Lamborghini is seeking to boost its consumer base in smaller cities around India. The premium automaker is upbeat about the nation's economic expansion, the increase of first-generation business owners, and the improvement of road infrastructure, all of which are projected to fuel further business expansion. Lamborghini focuses on customers in smaller cities due to the increased demand, which was previously centred in bigger cities.

Through implementing a programme to reach out to potential clients in 100 Indian cities, Lamborghini has established a presence in 50 locations that now account for more than 25% of the company's sales. The company has observed significant interest in smaller Tier I and Tier II cities, like Amritsar, Shillong, Lucknow, Udupi, and Ajmer, with a surge in first-generation entrepreneurs and female purchasers. Before, demand was concentrated in larger cities. With pricing starting at 3 crores, Lamborghini's SUV variant, Urus, accounts for 60% of all sales in India. The manufacturer sold 92 vehicles in India last year, a 33% rise from the year before.

In India, the Lamborghini Urus SUV has become increasingly popular among affluent first-time purchasers. More than 80% of customers are first-time Lamborghini owners, and 10% additionally buy a Lamborghini sports vehicle. Lamborghini is confident about the Indian market's growth potential despite the extended waiting period of more than 18 months caused by high demand, given the rising number of billionaires in the nation and new infrastructure upgrades like motorways and racetracks. Almost 9,300 Lamborghini vehicles were shipped internationally last year, an increase of 10% over the year before. The company's priority is to continue steadily expanding its clientele while offering top-notch customer service.

In conclusion, Lamborghini's choice to increase its presence in Tier I and Tier II Indian cities is evidence of the country's rising luxury car demand. The business is well-positioned to capitalise on this expansion and meet the changing needs of Indian customers thanks to its strong brand image and an array of premium vehicles. Additionally, the action is consistent with government efforts in India to expand the manufacturing industry and draw in foreign capital.
