The Korean carmaker dispatched more than 18,000 units of the Creta, which includes both the ICE and EV models. The Creta witnessed a positive MoM and YoY growth of slightly more than 10 percent in both criteria.

  2. The Maruti Swift moved to the second position in March. The Indian automaker sold almost 17,800 units of the Swift, a YoY increase of 13 percent.

  3. Tata sold slightly over 17,700 units of the Punch ICE and EV during the period, which represents a YoY growth of slightly over 1 percent. Do note that the sales data includes both ICE and EV variants of the Punch.

  14. Maruti retailed just over 10,400 units of the Eeco in March. It registered a negative MoM of 9 percent and a negative YoY of 13 percent.

  15. The Maruti Alto K10 failed to cross the 10,000 sales mark despite the carmaker having a positive MoM of 15.5 percent. Based on annual figures, the carmaker saw a positive figure of 6 percent.

Conclusion

March 2025 witnessed dramatic realignments in the top-sellers list, with the Hyundai Creta staging a strong comeback to take the leadership position. Its continuous performance and the addition of both ICE and EV variants were factors in its success. Maruti was strong in the top positions with Swift, Wagon R, Ertiga, and Brezza witnessing good YoY growth. Tata's Nexon and Punch also showed consistent performance across segments. Although the Maruti Fronx experienced a sharp fall in monthly sales after topping the list in February, it still reported positive growth on a YoY basis. On the whole, the month witnessed changing consumer trends, rising demand for SUVs, and interest in EV variants across several models.
