Hyundai Alcazar Gets Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto in New Update

Hyundai has finally added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the Alcazar, solving a major tech drawback. A new wired-to-wireless adapter is now available for Rs 3,800, bringing seamless connectivity to the Prestige, Platinum, and Signature trims.

Hyundai has rolled out a much-awaited update to its much-coveted Alcazar SUV by making wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available. The all-new feature would be a plug-and-play-to-adapter worth Rs 3,800. For those who relied on wired connections to integrate their smartphones, this breakthrough will change everything, making their lives easier.

The new function available for the Prestige, Platinum, and Signature trims has not been extended to the entry-level Executive variant, which still does not come with an infotainment system. Such an effort will cause the Alcazar not to lag in the new tech advances, leading to a more seamless and convenient driving experience.

How does the new wireless connectivity work? Regarding the Alcazar's wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, we're looking at an adapter that connects into the SUV's USB-A port for plug-and-play access. Once connected, a user would be able to access:

  • Navigation Apps such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, etc.

  • Music Streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music

  • Voice commands for hands-free assistance, which means no more cables. A huge win for tech-savvy drivers fond of cleaner dashboards.

Interestingly, though, Hyundai's 5-seater Creta sibling already sports a wireless smartphone connection, just for the mid-spec levels bearing that 8.0-inch screen. Creta, however, doesn't have an onboard variant for its top-end versions, which have dual 10.25-inch screens, just like the Alcazar. Instead of simply doing an in-built software upgrade to the Alcazar, Hyundai chose to offer different adapters to the unit.

Such maintenance of low cost then, enables the existing model to immediately benefit from the upgrade without a major hardware change.

The Alcazar:

  • An SUV Full of Features Beyond the Latest Connectivity Update

  • The Hyundai Alcazar Comes with a Panoramic Sunroof

  • Ventilated and Powered Front Row Seats

  • Wireless Charging for Both First and Second Rows

  • Bose Sound System

  • Dual Zone Climate Control, a 360-degree Camera and ADAS Safety Features

Overall, Alcazar is an SUV, which embeds practicality with their premium offerings.

Hyundai Alcazar: Engine and Price Details The Hyundai Alcazar is still offered with the following:

  • 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine: 160hp and the option of either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT

  • 1.5-litre diesel engine 116hp and the option of either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic

Standard 7-seater configurations, with 6-seat availability on the Platinum and Signature trims.

A Smart Upgrade for Hyundai Alcazar Owners

While the Hyundai Rs 3,800 adapter may not be seen as a significant upgrade to many, for the Alcazar owners, it finally eliminates one of the significant technological drawbacks of the SUV. With this simple plug-and-play solution, Hyundai has transformed the connectivity of its much-loved three-row SUV without the need for a costly facelift or software overhaul.

If you were planning to buy an Alcazar, then this makes it even more worthwhile with easy integration with your smartphone, minus the wires!
