This limited edition SUV was finally made available in India by Tata Motors, with prices starting at Rs. 11.45 lakh. While Hyundai Venue was launched on August 18, 2023, and it costs Rs. 10 lakh. After a significant second midlife update in September 2023, the Dark edition of the Tata Nexon is now back in stock. The blacked-out "Knight Edition" version of the Hyundai Venue was also released in August 2023. Since then, the automotive industry has been discussing the similarities and differences between both of the cars. As a result, we simplified and combined all of the differences here just for your better understanding.
Exterior:
The Front View:
Nexon Dark's facelifted styling features the split-LED headlight arrangement and the bumper's chrome accents have all been painted black, also the silver skid plate has been painted black. While you will witness that for the Venue's fascia, The grille and the "Hyundai" logo are finished in a dark black hue. In addition, the headlights have a smoked effect, the bumper has brass inserts, and the skid plate is also finished in black.
The Rear View:
The black bumper and the "Nexon" nameplate are located on the back of the Nexon Dark. Similarly, The Hyundai’s 'Venue' badge on the SUV’s rear has been given the same finishing for its logo along with the “Knight Emblem”. Additionally, the Hyundai SUV features brass accents in the bumper.
The Side View:
The Tata SUV can be seen in profile with its 16-inch black alloy wheels, its ORVM housings completely blacked out, and its front fenders adorned with '#Dark' badges. The Venue Knight Edition, on the other hand, has red brake calipers, roof rails, and ORVMs in addition to black alloy wheels with brass inserts.
Interior:
Hyundai’s Venue Interior Features several changes from the standard trim, such as a dual dash camera, 3D floor mats, metal pedals, black seat upholstery with brass accents, and a black interior theme with brass inserts throughout. The Venue Knight Edition features black seat upholstery with brass accents as well as brass-colored inserts throughout the cabin. The interior features 3D designer mats and a metal pedal finish for a sportier, more upscale appearance.
Powertrain:
All Nexon mid-spec trims and higher, including Creative, Creative+, Creative+ S, Fearless, Fearless S, and Fearless+ S, are getting the Dark Edition treatment. The previously mentioned trims come with two different gearbox options: a 6-speed manual, 6-AMT, or 6-DCT mated to a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 120 horsepower, or a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 115 horsepower and a 6-speed MT and AMT gearbox.
On the other hand, The Knight Edition of Venue comes with two different powertrain options: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine. The former is offered in S (O) and SX (O) trim levels, whereas the latter is limited to the SX (O) variation. Fitted with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT gearbox, the more potent turbo-petrol motor can generate 118bhp and 172Nm of torque.
Features:
Along with tons of other features, the Venue Knight Edition boasts an 8-inch touchscreen, a sunroof, wireless phone charging, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a dual-camera dashcam—the last two being new additions to the limited edition. Safety features like a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a reversing camera, and six airbags are also available on Hyundai models.
Tata has included all of the standard model's features in the Nexon Dark which one would look into before making a purchase. It has two 10.25-inch screens: one for infotainment and the other for navigational data. Wireless phone charging, air-conditioned front seats, and a sunroof are additional features. Its safety net comprises a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Prices and Rivals
The Hyundai Venue Knight Edition is priced between Rs 10.13 lakh and Rs 13.48 lakh, while the Tata Nexon Dark is priced between Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 13.85 lakh. The Nissan Magnite Red Edition and the Kia Sonet X-Line are their only direct competitors. Other competitors of the Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Fronx crossover will be the Tata-Hyundai SUVs.
