How Has Tata Prepared Its Curvv To Beat Indias Favorite Sub Compact Suv The Kia Seltos

How has Tata prepared its Curvv to beat India’s favorite Sub-compact SUV The Kia Seltos?

Kia Seltos has been undoubtedly the Indian top-favorite Sub-compact SUV which is likely to get replaced very soon by Tata Curvv. Tata has announced the arrival of its Curvv EV first on August 7 and Curvv ICE to arrive later this year which promises some first-in-segment features. Let’s delve into seven notable features of the Tata Curvv that make it a superior choice over the Kia Seltos.

Bigger Touchscreen

The Tata Curvv will come with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, which is also available in other Tata models like the Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari. This system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, providing seamless connectivity. On the other hand, the Kia Seltos offers a smaller 10.25-inch infotainment system with only wired connectivity. This larger screen in the Curvv will enhance the in-car entertainment experience.

Navigation on Driver's Display

Both the Tata Curvv and Kia Seltos feature fully digital 10.25-inch driver displays. However, the Curvv has an edge by offering map navigation on the driver’s display. This feature, also seen in the Nexon, allows drivers to view navigation instructions directly on the display without diverting their attention from the road, enhancing safety and convenience.

Enhanced Audio System

The Tata Curvv is expected to feature a 9-speaker sound system, likely from JBL, which includes tweeters and a subwoofer. In comparison, the Kia Seltos comes with an 8-speaker setup from Bose. Although the difference might seem minor, the additional speaker and enhanced audio quality in the Curvv could offer a better listening experience for music enthusiasts.

Hill Descent Control

The Tata Curvv will come equipped with hill-start assist, hill-ascent control, and hill-descent control, providing added safety and control on steep slopes. In contrast, the Kia Seltos only offers hill-start assist. This makes the Curvv a more attractive option for those who frequently drive on hilly terrains.

Powered Tailgate

One of the standout comfort features of the Tata Curvv is the powered tailgate. This feature allows users to open or close the boot lid with the touch of a button, which is already available in Tata's Harrier and Safari models. The Curvv also includes gesture control for even more convenience. The Kia Seltos does not offer a powered tailgate, making the Curvv more user-friendly for those who often use the boot space.

Traffic Sign Recognition

Both the Tata Curvv and Kia Seltos come with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking. However, the Curvv will also include traffic sign recognition, which enhances safety by alerting drivers to important road signs. This added feature gives the Curvv a technological edge over the Seltos.

Welcome and Goodbye Lights

The Tata Curvv will feature welcome and goodbye lighting functionality, which plays animations in the LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and tail lights when locking or unlocking the car. This feature, already present in modern Tata cars, adds a touch of style and sophistication. The Kia Seltos does not offer such a feature, making the Curvv more appealing to those who appreciate the attention to detail.

To conclude, The Tata Curvv brings several innovative features that set it apart from the Kia Seltos. From a larger touchscreen and advanced driver assistance systems to enhanced audio quality and practical comfort features like a powered tailgate, the Curvv is designed to offer a superior driving experience. With its blend of technology, safety, and convenience, the Tata Curvv is poised to be a strong contender in the compact SUV market. As it prepares for its launch, these features might just make the Curvv the preferred choice for many SUV enthusiasts.
