Honda City Drival launch price to be set at THB 829K, which equals Rs. 21 Lakhs

The city has been one of the most iconic sedans in India. But what we don't have here is the City's hatchback version. It is available in markets like Thailand alongside its sedan counterpart. Honda Thailand has launched a special edition of the City Hatchback titled Honda City Drival. Let's see more of Honda City Drival Launch Price THB 829K (Rs 21 L) – Limited To 1,000 Units

Sporting variants of everyday hatchbacks and sedans carry enormous selling potential from fans. To that extent, Honda offers the enormously popular Civic Type-R, which at present is a red-hot item in most international markets and occupies garage space with numerous celebrities such as Hollywood actor, John Cena.

The City, nonetheless, does not receive the Type-R treatment. But Honda Thailand has made a new limited production special version of the City Hatchback known as City Drival with sporty exterior accents with a new body kit. The visual sportiness does not extend to driving dynamics and performance, though.

Honda City Drival is produced in just 1,000 units. Pricing for this limited edition begins from TBH 829,000 (around Rs 21 lakh). Drival is now being positioned as the highest-spec version of the City Hatchback in Thailand based on the e: HEV RS trim. As far as extra cost is involved, Honda Thailand is charging TBH 30,000 (around Rs 77,000) extra for Drival treatment.

Powertrain of the Honda City Drival

HEV RS trim based, Honda City Drival is equipped with a 97 bhp 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Petrol engine with a self-charging Hybrid mechanism. The Hybrid powertrain is coupled with a 108 bhp electric motor powering all wheels through a single e-CVT gearbox option.

Conclusion

The Honda City Drival offers a thrilling limited-production model for Thailand's hatchback enthusiasts. Though it lacks the performance boost of a Type-R model, its sporty styling and limited availability make it a coveted option among City Hatchback enthusiasts. Only 1,000 units will be produced at THB 829,000 (around Rs. 21 lakh), making it the top-of-the-line version in its family. For anyone looking for a fashionable yet fuel-efficient hybrid hatchback, the City Drival is worth considering in the Thai market.
