Fourth Generation Nissan X Trail Unveiled In India

Fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail Unveiled in India

Nissan India has finally unveiled its X-Trail after a decade break which is set to arrive by August. It is expected that almost after about 2 years ago, Nissan is ready to gain back its position in the Indian market with this model with amazing features and various color options.

Exterior Design

The 2024 Nissan X-Trail sports a design that aligns with its global version. It features a split-headlight design with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) positioned above them. The front grille is U-shaped with chrome accents, giving it a premium look. The SUV also boasts large 20-inch alloy wheels and prominent body cladding on the sides. At the rear, the X-Trail has wraparound LED taillights that, unlike many modern vehicles, are not connected. The overall dimensions of the SUV are substantial, ensuring it has a strong road presence.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Nissan X-Trail offers an all-black theme with fabric upholstery, creating a sleek and modern cabin environment. The SUV comes equipped with a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional features include a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, paddle shifters, and adjustable second-row seats that can slide and recline. For safety, the X-Trail is equipped with seven airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system.

Powertrain and Performance

The new X-Trail for India is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. This engine produces 163 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency. The powertrain is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and features a front-wheel-drive setup. Additionally, it comes with a limited-slip differential to enhance handling and stability.

Expected Price and Competitors

The fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail is expected to be priced at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) when it launches in August 2024. This pricing places it in competition with other popular SUVs in the Indian market, such as the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian.

In Summary, The return of the Nissan X-Trail to the Indian market marks a significant milestone for the brand. With its modern design, advanced features, and robust powertrain, the fourth-generation X-Trail aims to attract SUV enthusiasts looking for a blend of luxury and performance. As it prepares to launch in August 2024, the X-Trail is poised to make a strong impact and compete effectively in the premium SUV segment.
