First Electric Ferrari Expected to Debut on October 9

Mark your calendars for October 9, 2025, as Ferrari prepares to unveil its highly anticipated first electric car. CEO Benedetto Vigna confirmed the reveal during the company's financial presentation, highlighting a shift towards electrification with six new models planned for this year. While details remain scarce, the new EV promises to embody Ferrari's commitment to performance and innovation.

The Italian automaker, based in Maranello, is going to reveal its long-awaited first electric car in October. Ferrari's CEO Benedetto Vigna said during the same presentation in which he reported the financials for 2024, "On 9 October at our Capital Markets Day, we will let you in on more of our future." He, however, didn't elaborate. The Ferrari EV is one of the six new models that are going to roll out this year from the iconic maker.

What We Know About the First Ferrari EV

Unfortunately, very little is known about the vehicle. Last year, some camouflaged testing mules were seen in Maranello, but the prototype was clad in the body of a Maserati Levante SUV, complete with even mock exhausts at the rear. Until then, it will be seen whether its silhouette will bear any comparison to the Levante.

Ferrari says a thousand kilometres of testing have already been done for the electric prototype, and Vigna told our sister publication, Autocar UK, that it is going to be made "the right way" to ensure buyers "have a lot of fun".

Ferrari has constructed a new production line for the E-V in a new E-building at its headquarters in Maranello. That new building will also make combustion and hybrid models, starting with the Purosangue, before the EV arrives at the company in 2026. Ultimately, it will make high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and axles within the facility.

Six new Ferraris planned for 2025

The only model that is not an EV is a car that would have had five new cars or special editions presented or launched this year. Once the Portofino M, SF-90 Stradale, 812 Superfast, and Roma leave the production lines in 2024, look to display these two follow-ups to the Roma and SF-90 this year.

Ferrari will also start the delivery of the F80 halo hypercar in Q3, so indeed a busy time for the Prancing Horse brand! At the financial results conference, Ferrari explained that the 296 and SF90 hybrid model lines made up 51 percent of total shipments, which last year registered worldwide shipments of 13,752 units. The luxury carmaker's revenue grew by 12 percent. As we have recently reported, the Ferrari 12Cilindri has been priced in India at Rs 8.5 crore ex-showroom for the Coupe variant and Rs 9.15 crore for the open-top Spider.
