Facelifted Tata Nexon To Get A Screen On The Steering Wheel

Facelifted Tata Nexon To Get A Screen On The Steering Wheel

Excitement builds as the facelifted Tata Nexon promises a notable upgrade—a screen on the steering wheel. This innovative feature enhances driver convenience by providing essential information right at their fingertips. With this addition, Tata Nexon continues to raise the bar in the compact SUV segment, blending style with advanced technology. Stay tuned for the unveiling of this enhanced version, where a screen on the steering wheel adds a touch of modern sophistication to the driving experience.

The facelifted Tata Nexon is expected to sport a new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with a screen right at the centre.

The layout was first seen on the Curvv concept, which was just backlit and displayed the Tata logo. The upcoming steering wheel is expected to act as a screen that could relay information similar to the instrument cluster.

Silver-finished or chrome-accented toggles flank the screen on each side for music and call controls. The same toggle switches could double up as controls for the screen in the middle of the steering wheel. The toggle switches are backlit, and we can expect the same steering unit to make its way to the Tata Safari and the Harrier as well.

The exterior changes on the facelift could be a revised front fascia to provide a fresh look, including a larger grille flanked by split LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The rear end could have a fresh pair of LED taillamps, a set of roof rails and a shark fin antenna. The interior layout could remain the same, except for some new colour schemes with a dual-tone finish and the new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an integrated screen.

That ought to give the cabin a fresh feel. The updated Tata Nexon would get a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a seven-inch instrument cluster borrowed from the Harrier and the Safari. Other changes in the cabin could include the addition of a built-in air purifier, ventilated seats, and ADAS as well.

The new Tata Nexon could be powered by a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that comes coupled with a six-speed manual/six-speed DCT and is capable of 123 bhp of power and 225 Nm of torque. A 1.5-litre diesel powertrain will also be offered that churns out 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque.

The facelifted Tata Nexon is market bound by sometime close to the festive season of 2023 as it is currently under the testing phase. It will lock horns with the likes of the Mahindra XUV 300, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue, to name a few.
